H.A.W.K.S. student referrals will be considered on an individual basis; academic, attendance, and discipline records will be reviewed, as well as a completed referral packet.
Recommended students with completed referral packets will be reviewed by the H.A.W.K.S. administrative staff, in collaboration with the recommending Woodland Regional High School staff. A complete review of the recommended student’s academic, social & emotional and behavioral history, as well as progress reports from teachers, counselors, and/or other relevant staff, will be reviewed during the admission process.
When necessary, admission into the program will be included in a student’s IEP via a PPT and/or a 504 meeting.
An entry meeting will be held with each student and his/her parent[s] and/or guardian[s] prior to admission to the program.
It is preferred that WRHS students enter the program at the beginnings of each semester; however, exceptions are considered due to mitigating circumstances or to the individual needs of a student as recommended by the administrative staff. In those cases, admission is rolling throughout the year.
Student placement will be reviewed by the administrative staff at the end of each academic year. Students will be expected to earn at least three credits per semester while enrolled in the H.A.W.K.S. program.
